Last updated 2026-06-06. avenic is operated by Vector Pack LLC ("Vector Pack", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the avenic API or website (the "Service") you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service for an organization, you accept on its behalf.
1. The Service
avenic records decisions and produces receipts: content-addressed artifacts that hash-chain the carried records and carry cryptographic signatures over them. Anyone can verify a receipt from its bytes alone, offline, with no account and no payment — verification is free and unmetered. You pay only to produce receipts, as prepaid receipt packs (see Pricing and the Refund Policy).
2. Your account and your records
Signup issues a tenant_id and an api_key. The key is shown once and
only its hash is stored; you are responsible for safeguarding it and for all activity under it.
You author the records you submit — we witness and adjudicate them, we do not source them. You
represent that you have the right to submit each record and any data it contains, and that doing
so does not violate any law or any third party's rights.
3. What we warrant
For any receipt the Service produces, Vector Pack warrants that: (a) the receipt's carried records hash-chain consistently under the published record grammar; (b) the signatures over those records verify against the public keys embedded in the receipt; (c) the set-completeness status is reported precisely as computed and is never overstated; and (d) the open verifier, run offline against the receipt's bytes alone, reproduces (a)–(c) without any dependency on us, our systems, or any third party. Where a receipt reports an adjudicated verdict, we warrant only that the verdict was computed under your declared, versioned, recorded policy identified in the receipt. Warranty (d) survives termination and our dissolution by construction.
4. What we do NOT warrant
The Service witnesses and adjudicates records; it does not certify facts about the world. EXCEPT FOR SECTION 3, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND WE DISCLAIM ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. In particular we make no representation:
- Truth. That any recorded claim, input, or decision is true, correct, fair, or lawful.
- Inputs. That inputs supplied to a decision were truthful or accurate — a receipt proves what was recorded, not that what was recorded was true.
- The physical world. Binding any record to a real-world event beyond the record's own cryptographic lineage.
- Legal outcomes. Of conformance with any law, standard, or obligation (including the GDPR, the EU AI Act, or the FCRA), or that your use of the Service satisfies any legal duty. Receipts are evidence-toward, never certification-of.
- Qualified trust services. The Service is not a qualified trust service, qualified electronic signature, or qualified timestamp under eIDAS (Regulation (EU) 910/2014), and receipts are not represented as such.
- No score. The Service is structurally incapable of producing a single fused trust-number; no output is a rating, score, or creditworthiness assessment of any person.
5. Acceptable use and export
You may not use the Service unlawfully, to infringe others' rights, to submit data you have no right to submit, or to attempt to defeat the per-account metering or rate limits. You represent that you are not located in, and are not ordinarily resident in, a country or territory subject to comprehensive U.S. sanctions, and that you are not a denied or restricted party under U.S. export law; you will not use or re-export the Service or its open components in violation of U.S. export controls.
6. Payment
Receipt packs are prepaid credits that draw down as you record, metered only on success. Checkout runs on a Stripe-hosted page; a pack credits the account identified at checkout. Prices are stated at Pricing; taxes, if any, are your responsibility. Refunds are governed by the Refund Policy.
7. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, and expressly not for any loss arising from reliance on a receipt as certification of truth contrary to Section 4. You will indemnify us against claims arising from the content of the records you submit.
8. Changes, termination, and governing law
We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted here with a new date. You may stop using the Service at any time; receipts you have already produced, and anyone's ability to verify them, are unaffected. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. [Vector Pack to confirm governing-law/venue with counsel.]
These Terms are a plain-language statement of the agreement; Vector Pack's counsel may issue a definitive Master Services Agreement for committed-volume and enterprise customers.
